At least six people on the run from Saudi authorities and two policemen were killed in a shootout in the northern region of Qasim, an interior ministry spokesman revealed. Security forces, which have stepped up a crackdown on Islamic militants in Saudi Arabia, came under gunfire and grenade attack during a raid on a farm in Ayun al-Jawa where the fugitives were hiding out, the spokesman said.
