The threat of terrorism still exists in Saudi Arabia despite a wave arrests, the interior minister said in comments published Wednesday — two days after authorities announced the capture of 16 suspected members of the al-Qaida terror group. The al-Qaida suspects, all Saudi citizens who had allegedly stockpiled a huge arsenal, brought to 240 the number of people detained in the crackdown that followed May 12 suicide bombings in Riyadh that killed 25 people and nine attackers. “We cannot deny the existence of danger in any city in the kingdom,” Interior Minister Prince Nayef said in remarks published in the daily al-Yaum.
