Lebanon has confirmed, in response to a series of questions from the Counter-Terrorism Committee (CTC), formed in line with UN Security Council Resolution 1373, that it has no weapons of mass destruction nor any relations with Al-Qaeda, Taliban or any other similar organization. Diplomatic sources said Tuesday that the New York-based CTC had requested UN member states to respond to 26 questions related to terrorism. They added that Lebanon’s response was prepared in collaboration with the ministries of interior and justice, the state prosecution and the Central Bank, and was sent by the Foreign Ministry to Lebanon’s UN permanent mission for delivery to the committee.
