CISCO has advised all of its routers running its IOS software are vulnerable to denial of service attacks. The world’s biggest provider of network routers issued the advisory today and provided a downloadable patch for the vulnerability. Cisco said a “rare, specially crafted sequence” of IPv4 packets could cause Cisco devices to refuse any incoming traffic. The vulnerability applies to all Cisco products running IOS which route IPv4 traffic, although products which only route IPv6 traffic are not affected. Full Story
