A new computer virus spreading across the net tricks users into thinking that the message has been sent from trustworthy sources including anti-virus company Panda Software. The mass-mailing worm, known as Lohack.B, appears to have been sent from Panda Software and other reputable sources including the Spanish Ministry of Science and Technology. Lohack.B, which spreads via email, through the P2P file sharing program KaZaA and across shared network folders, is always written in Spanish with subjects that include ‘Información sobre la LSSICE’ and ‘FW: AVISO IMPORTANTE: un Nuevo virus llamado LSSICE aparece en internet’. According to Panda Software, the infected message has always an ‘exe’ or ‘scr’ as attachment. It does not appear to have any destructive effects. Full Story
