Reports from Pakistan say officials there have handed over to the American authorities a suspected member of al Qaeda who was arrested last month in the city of Peshawar, near the Afghan border. Adil al-Jazeeri, who is an Algerian national, is thought to have fled Afghanistan following the fall of the Taleban authorities in Kabul a year and a half ago. He had been resident in the region for more than 15 years.
