Indonesian police said they had arrested “more than one” suspected members of the Jemaah Islamiyah (JI) extremist network, which is blamed for the Bali bombings and other bloody attacks across Southeast Asia. National police spokesman Brigadier General Edward Aritonang did not say when or where in Indonesia they were arrested or how many were held. “We’re looking into it,” he said. Scores of JI followers have been arrested across five countries in the region, including 32 in Singapore. Reputed JI leader Abu Bakir Bashir is on trial in Jakarta for waging a holy war to try to topple the government and set up an Islamic state. Full Story
