French peacekeepers in this troubled town in war-torn northeastern Democratic Republic of Congo killed three ethnic militia fighters, a force spokesman said. Another spokesman for the French-led force had earlier said that at least five had been killed in the exchange of fire with militia fighters from the Union of Congolese Patriots (UPC) on the outskirts of Bunia.
