3 Russian Soldiers Killed in Chechnya Landmine Explosion
Landmine explosions in Chechnya have killed a least three Russian soldiers and injured several others. Russian news agencies report three soldiers were killed in an explosion in the Vedeno area in the southwestern part of the republic. Three Russian soldiers were injured. The Russian news reports say at least two other soldiers were injured in a separate explosion in a village near the capital, Grozny. Meanwhile, Russia’s military said it has killed a leading Chechen separatist leader, Aslan Gasayev, in a clash near Grozny.
