Two US soldiers have been killed in separate attacks overnight in Iraq, US military sources say. Two soldiers were injured on Wednesday evening when attackers fired rocket-propelled grenades on a convoy of the US Fourth Infantry Division on a road to Tikrit about 160 kilometres (100 miles) north of Baghdad. The soldiers were taken to a nearby military medical facility but one of them later died. Another soldier was shot and killed near the city of Mahmudiyah about 25 kilometres (15 miles) south of Baghdad when his convoy was ambushed and attacked with small arms fire, US officials said. US Central Command additionally reported the death of a soldier from a “non-hostile gunshot incident” on Wednesday. The exact circumstances of such an incident are unclear. Full Story
