Interior Minister Boris Gryzlov said Wednesday that two more suspects have been detained in the murder of State Duma Deputy Sergei Yushenkov. Gryzlov did not identify the two suspects, saying only they had been brought to Moscow by the police. The Prosecutor General’s Office confirmed the arrests but declined to provide any details. “Two people have been held, but I can’t give further information about it,” a prosecutor’s office spokeswoman said. The arrests bring to four the number of suspects being held in the investigation into the Yushenkov’s death. Yushenkov, a co-leader of the Liberal Russia party, was gunned down outside his apartment building April 17. Two other suspects, Liberal Russia co-leader Mikhail Kodanyov and Alexander Vinnik, were detained June 26 in Kudymkar in the northern Komi-Perm autonomous district. They have been charged with organizing the murder. A Moscow court on Wednesday denied an appeal by Vinnik to be released. Prosecutors have said Vinnik admitted earlier this month to organizing the murder and said he did so on orders from Kodanyov. Full Story
