Six Sandia National Laboratories employees have been disciplined after being named in a recent report about security problems, officials at the nuclear weapons lab said Thursday. One employee was asked to retire and two were demoted and suspended — one for five days without pay and the other for 30 days without pay, lab spokesman John German said. Two others were suspended for five days without pay and a sixth was issued a written reprimand, he said. Lab officials refused to release the employees’ names or how they violated security policy. The employees were named in a report the lab commissioned in August after whistleblowers Pat O’Neill and Mark Ludwig went to upper management with criticism of lab security. Full Story
