The Lebanese newspaper Al Mustaqbal reported Friday that the three skeletons discovered in southern Lebanon the day before may be the remains of Palestinians and not Israeli MIAs, as had been previously reported. According to Al Mustaqbal, the skeletons may be the remains of Palestinians who died in different ways at different times, Israel Radio reported. In addition, the Lebanese press agency said Friday that at least one of the skeletons is the remains of a woman in her 20s, Army Radio reported. A KGB Soviet intelligence agency document from 1989 claims that the three MIAs were apparently killed in battle, and that Syria is holding their bodies, Channel One reported on Friday night. Israeli sources pointed out that Hezbollah has previously used various tactics of psychological warfare and has spread misleading information in order to advance its demands in prisoners-of-war swaps with Israel.
