A Swiss man working for a group assisting peasants in southern Colombia was kidnapped Wednesday by what authorities suspected was a group of Marxist rebels, police said. Suspected members of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, known by the Spanish initials FARC, took Florian Arnolds from a rural property in Cauca province, police Col. Pedro Florez said. A Colombian with him was also taken but freed shortly afterward. Arnolds had lived in Colombia for about a decade and worked in a nongovernmental organization assisting peasants, Florez said,.
