A Maoist rebel has been killed in clashes with security forces in an eastern hill district of Nepal. The fighting – in the district of Bhojpur – followed allegations that each side had been violating the ceasefire that has been in place since last January. At least one person was killed in a similar incident in the Jajarkot district only last week. There has been growing concern at the increasing frequency of such incidents.
