A Maoist rebel has been killed in clashes with security forces in an eastern hill district of Nepal. The fighting – in the district of Bhojpur – followed allegations that each side had been violating the ceasefire that has been in place since last January. At least one person was killed in a similar incident in the Jajarkot district only last week. There has been growing concern at the increasing frequency of such incidents. Few details have emerged of the latest clash, which occurred on Wednesday. There have also been reports of rebel extortion and abduction across the country. Full Story
