Two Hamas militants have been killed in an exchange of fire with the Israeli army in the Gaza Strip, Palestinian sources have said. The Israeli army says the men were killed when its troops fought a group of Hamas militants in the town of Beit Hanoun. There was an hour-long encounter between, what military sources call, a Hamas squad and Israeli soldiers which included light gun-fire and anti-tank weapons. One Israeli soldier was injured according to a military source. They were unable to confirm the deaths of the Hamas militants. The exchange of fire comes a day after an Israeli operation which rounded up 150 people in the West Bank. Hamas angrily condemned the move saying it had damaged prospects of a ceasefire. Full Story
