A further step towards restoring peace in Ivory Coast has been taken after an agreement to confine fighters in designated military camps
The rebels will be confined in parts of the north of Ivory Coast, while the army will stay near the main cities to the south and west of the country. Sixteen sites have been agreed so far and the operation will be completed by the end of the month. The agreement was reached at a meeting in the political capital, Yamoussoukro on Tuesday. The regrouping of troops in military camps was part of the peace process agreed to at talks in France last January. Full Story
