The Sri Lankan Government is to present Tamil Tiger rebels with the outline of a power sharing deal for the island’s north-east in an attempt to woo them back to peace talks. Cabinet spokesman GL Peiris said officials would set out basic features of a proposed provisional administrative structure and then invite comments from the Tigers. Control of the north-east after years of war is at the heart of a deepening row between Colombo and the rebels, who pulled out of peace talks in April. Full Story
