The two British Muslims who carried out a suicide attack in a pub in Tel Aviv at the end of April were dispatched by the armed wing of the radical Hamas group, the office of Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon said. Three people were killed when one of the two bombers blew himself up at the entrance of Mike’s Place on April 30, becoming the first European to carry out a suicide attack since the beginning of the Palestinian uprising. His accomplice, who was also carrying explosives, escaped after failing to detonate them. His body was found floating off the beach two weeks later. Until now, no Palestinian group has claimed responsibility for the suicide attack. “The two Britons involved in the suicide attack in Mike’s Place in Tel Aviv were dispatched by the military wing of Hamas in Gaza,” the statement said, stressing the Muslim aspect and pointing out the two were not of Palestinian nor Arab origin.
