Taliban Warn of Suicide Attacks on Foreign Troops

Taliban fighters in Afghanistan have threatened to launch suicide attacks against U.S. and British troops and Afghan government officials in revenge for a big defeat this month. The threat came in leaflets distributed in southeastern Afghanistan that also urged people to back the Taliban and not cooperate with the U.S.-backed government. “A suicide force of Taliban Mujahideen has been formed to take the revenge for Taliban martyrs,” the Taliban said, according to a copy of the leaflet seen in the border town of Spin Boldak on Monday. Mujahideen are Muslim holy warriors. “They will start non-stop suicide attacks on senior Afghan officials and American and British forces,” it added. Full Story
