Saudi official condems terrorism, but not Hamas
Saudi Arabia condemned terrorism “in all its forms,” but refrained from openly criticizing Hamas, the group that claimed responsibility for Wednesday’s bus blast in Jerusalem that killed 16. Adel Al-Jubeir, advisor to Crown Prince Abdallah ben-Abdel Aziz, criticized the Israeli government of Prime Minister Ariel Sharon at a press conference at the Saudi embassy here and refused to condemn Hamas, despite repeated questions from reporters. “We have condemned terrorism in all its forms,” said al-Jubeir. Washington considers Hamas, a fundamentalist Islamic group that operates in the occupied terrories and the Gaza strip, a terrorist organization. “I think that the prime minister of Israel has to think very seriously about his policy,” Al-Jubeir said.
