Small Bomb Explodes at U.S. Consulate in Turkey

A man set off a small bomb inside the grounds of the United States consulate in Turkey’s southern city of Adana Wednesday, local television reported. CNN Turk said police had arrested a 35-year-old man after he entered the garden of the consulate and detonated the device — a percussion, or “pop” bomb, which makes a loud noise but causes little or no damage. No one was hurt in the incident, reports said. U.S. officials refused to comment until a security investigation was complete. Local media reported the man was carrying a second percussion device.
