German Defense Minister Peter Struck said on Saturday there were indications the al Qaeda network was involved in the suspected suicide car bombing in Kabul that blew up a bus carrying German soldiers, killing four. Struck told ZDF television he had received the information that the al Qaeda terror network may have been behind the attack that injured another 29 Germans in a telephone conversation with his Afghan counterpart Mohammed Fahim on Saturday. “My Afghan colleague told me in a telephone call there are indications that al Qaeda is behind it,” Struck said. “This nevertheless still has to be investigated further.
