School Bomb Find Condemned
Loyalist paramilitaries who left six pipe bombs near a nursery school in south Belfast have been condemned by the SDLP. The bombs were found in a plastic bag in undergrowth near the Arellian Nursery School at Bentham Drive near Sandy Row on Saturday. Carmel Hanna said the discovery, close to a children’s playground as “horrifying”. “It is horrifying that a paramilitary organization would put the lives of innocent children at risk in this way by leaving pipe bombs in a play area,” she said. “People want to move on from the past, they want to see their children grow up in safety and without the fear that scarred our past.
