The acting director of a leading Russian weapons manufacturer was shot and killed Friday as he walked his dog near his apartment in central Moscow, a Moscow police spokesman said. Igor Klimov, acting general director of Almaz-Antei, which makes air defense weapons, was shot by an unidentified man with a homemade gun, police spokesman Yevgeny Gildiyev said. He said Klimov’s killer escaped, dropping his weapon nearby. The ITAR-Tass news agency quoted a police official as saying that the killing may have been linked to Klimov’s business activities.
