Two Alleged Aceh Rebels Arrested Over Jakarta Airport Bombing

Indonesian police said they arrested two separatist rebels from Aceh province on Tuesday on suspicion of involvement in a bombing at Jakarta’s international airport last month. National police chief General Dai Bachtiar said the pair hold “important” positions in the Free Aceh Movement (GAM) and were arrested in the Cipinang district of Jakarta. “The police have been investigating whether the two men planted the bomb at the international airport,” Bachtiar said, as quoted by Antara. A police spokesman said he was still checking the report. The bombing in an airport restaurant area on April 27 injured 11 people including a woman who lost a leg. Full Story
