Four hurt in Spanish post office blast
The explosion of a booby-trapped parcel in a post office in Spain’s Mediterranean port of Valencia injured four people, one seriously, police said, as the country prepared for local and regional polls. The seriously injured person suffered wounds to an arm and was rushed to hospital. Valencia governor Juan Cotino told private CNN+ television it was unlikely Basque separatists were behind the attack which he rather attributed to radical anarchists. “Because of the characteristics (of the explosion), it does not look like the (Basque) ETA terrorist group, or any similar group” carried out the attack, he said. Valencia mayor Rita Barbera said the origin of the parcel was being investigated. “We do not know why the parcel was mailed but we do know that the intentions weren’t good,” she said. Full Story
