Thailand poured scorn on a travel alert issued by Australia and New Zealand, saying on Friday the country was not a potential target for an attack by Muslim militants. Australia and New Zealand issued travel warnings for many Southeast Asian countries following the suicide bomb attacks in Saudi Arabia, saying they had information militants were targeting Westerners. Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra questioned the warning. “Australia itself is also a target (of Muslim militants). I would warn Thais visiting Australia to be careful because this country is a target too. They should only travel to safe cities or spots,” Thaksin told reporters, a wry smile on his face. Full Story
