The similarities between fraudster-turned-fraud guru Frank W Abagnale Jr, who was portrayed in the 2002 movie “Catch Me If You Can”, and alleged Ukrainian hacker Maksym Vysochansky, who was arrested in Bangkok on Monday, have inspired police. Like the FBI agents in the movie, the police have attempted to learn about hacking from Vysochansky to better arm themselves in the fight against cyber crimes, a police official said yesterday. However, Vysochansky, 25, who is also a black-belt karate practitioner, yesterday agreed only to share his wisdom in areas like web-page design or karate, but not hacking, as he was still denying charges that he had stolen and sold computer software over the Internet, a Crime Suppression Division deputy superintendent Lt-Colonel Akka-dej Pimolsri said.
