The meeting is expected to take place on Thursday night or Friday morning, said spokesman Ismail Haniya. The talks will be the first between the prime minister and Hamas, and come as the Palestinian leadership is facing increasing pressure to disarm militant groups. Abu Mazen has said he favours a dialogue with militants to stop them carrying out attacks against Israel. There have been five suicide attacks against Israel in the past week. Two security guards were killed in the most recent attack, on Monday.
