A politician in the southern Pakistani city of Karachi has been shot dead. Police said the politician, Naushad Ansari and his 16 year-old nephew were travelling in a car when they were attacked by gunmen on motorcycles. Both died on the spot. Mr Ansari was an activist with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM). MQM officials have blamed a rival political group, the Mohajir Qaumi Movement, also known as Haqiqi, for the killings.
