Sudanese President Omar Hassan al-Bashir said talks to end the country’s 20-year-old civil war could lead to peace within two months, contradicting remarks by his foreign minister saying a deal could be delayed. Official Sudanese television said Bashir made the comments on Saturday, but gave no further details. The Khartoum government and southern rebels of the Sudan People’s Liberation Army have been holding peace talks in Kenya since last year.
