North Korea is training around 100 computer hackers each year to boost its cyber-warfare capabilities, pushing the South to fortify its own computer security, a South Korean military official said on Friday. Capitalist South Korea is one of the world’s most wired countries, making it that much more vulnerable to cyber attacks, Song Young-keun, commanding general of Seoul’s Defence Security Command, was quoted as saying. “Defence Security Command is making investments and efforts to beef up security and counter-computer warfare abilities,” a spokesman for Song’s office said, confirming a local media report of remarks the general had made at a seminar in the capital.
