There has been a bomb explosion near a sports stadium in the Chechen capital, Grozny – just before the start of planned celebrations to mark Russian Victory Day in World War II. Reports say that three policemen were wounded. The planned parade in the stadium was cancelled. Elsewhere in Russia, thousands of veterans and officials attended events across the country. The biggest celebrations were in Moscow, where a large-scale military parade was attended by President Vladimir Putin. Five thousand troops marched across Red Square. Full Story
