A former terrorism suspect testified Wednesday that the government’s star witness in the Detroit terrorism case fabricated testimony to get even with the defendants. “He wanted to get revenge for what they did to him,” Omar Shishani, 48, of Dearborn testified. Trial testimony indicates that two defendants stole passports he needed to establish a new identity. Shishani’s lawyer said the U.S. Attorney’s Office retaliated against him for Wednesday’s testimony by withdrawing its plea agreement in Shishani’s criminal case. He said they previously had assured Shishani that his testimony wouldn’t affect the deal. “He could spend a lot of time in prison for what he did here today,” lawyer Corbett Edge O’Meara said outside court.
