Britain pursued its efforts to help Israeli authorities nail down the identity of two Britons involved in a suicide bomb attack on a Tel Aviv nightspot the day before. Major newspapers ran the personal details page — photos included — of the passports of Asif Mohammed Hanif and Omar Khan Sharif, which identified them as British citizens. “We’re working and cooperating fully with the Israeli authorities in providing any information that can assist them in their investigation,” a Foreign Office spokeswoman told AFP. She added: “The Home Office will be doing everything they can to help the Israelis identify these individuals and to check the validity of their passports.” The Home Office, or interior ministry, is responsible for issuing British passports.
