A Jordanian airport security guard has been killed as he examined a bag containing a grenade which a Japanese journalist was taking home as a souvenir from Iraq, officials say. Three other guards at the Queen Alia international airport in the capital Amman were injured when the bag exploded near the luggage screening area in the north terminal. “The employee noticed a suspect piece of metal inside the baggage and as he prepared to examine it closely, it exploded in his hands, killing him instantly,” Jordanian Information Minister Mohamad Adwan told AFP news agency. Police detained the Japanese journalist, who was also slightly injured in the incident.
