A huge explosion destroyed a restaurant near the U.S. Embassy early Wednesday in a suicide bomb attack. Police said at least two people were killed, including the bomber, and as many as 15 were wounded. “There has been a terror attack on the seafront,” Tel Aviv police spokeswoman Shlomit Hertzberg said. Ambulances raced to the scene and casualties were carried away on stretchers. The bomb blew the front off the restaurant and demolished walls, doors and furniture inside. Tel Aviv police commander Yossi Sedbon told Israel Army Radio that the explosion was apparently set off by a suicide bomber. A witness identified only by his first name, Gil, told Army Radio that a security guard at the restaurant prevented the bomber from entering. The restaurant, called Mike’s Place, is on Herbert Samuel Esplanade, a beachside walkway several miles long and a popular.
