Indonesian President Megawati Sukarnoputri will decide Monday on the next step against Aceh separatist rebels after crucial peace talks this weekend were called off, the top security minister said Sunday. Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono was speaking after greeting Megawati on her return home from an Eastern European tour. Media reports said she came back two days earlier than scheduled in order to handle the Aceh situation. Yudhoyono said his office has prepared “a number of options and steps” for discussion during a cabinet meeting. “It is hoped that the president will be able to choose an option from what we have prepared and decide on its implementation,” he said.
