Hackers lured into sweeter Honeypot

The Honeynet group, which designs decoys to lure hackers away from corporate networks, is making its software more powerful and easier to use

Two dozen members of the Honeynet Project — including its founder, Lance Spitzner — hope new changes to the group’s open-source honeypot technology will help the method become much more popular among security companies and others. The honeypot is a jucy-looking decoy, designed to lure hackers away from the actual network or server they were attempting to attack. The new technology will help users forge their own honeypots.
