State prison officials say they want to know how an inmate got the Social Security numbers of several prison staffers, but say they don’t think it was from the agency’s own files. The numbers — including that of the director of the state Correction Department, Larry Norris — were provided to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette newspaper in a letter from a person who said he was an inmate at the prison system’s Tucker Unit. The letter-writer, who complained that prison officials weren’t following good security procedures in how they allow inmates access to computers, asked not to be identified. Full Story
