Three members of a Real IRA cell responsible for a devastating car bomb campaign in London and Birmingham were convicted at the Old Bailey yesterday. It is thought that Robert Hulme, 23, Aiden Hulme, 25 and Noel Maguire, 34, were poised to launch another attack when their farmhouse hideout in Yorkshire was discovered by chance during an undercover investigation by customs and excise. Officers found a car which was being prepared to take a bomb, but have no idea which area was to be targeted. The three men were accused of plotting with James McCormack, 34, and John Hannan, 19, to plant a device outside the BBC television centre in Shepherds Bush, London, in March 2001.
