IDF forces stepped up anti-terror operations overnight in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip. Four Palestinians were killed and seven people were injured as the army operated in the Rafiah refugee camp. A Hamas terrorist was shot dead as soldiers tried to arrest him in Nablus. A Palestinian boy was killed by IDF gunfire in Kalkilya. 6 Israeli soldiers were wounded in the operations. The army’s operation in Rafiah began late Wednesday night when some 25 tanks and bulldozers moved into action in response to terrorist activity along the Egyptian border. Givati soldiers led the assault, backed up by IAF helicopters. During the course of the operation, four Israeli soldiers were lightly injured when their Merkava tank overturned after a bomb detonated beneath it. Four previous bomb attacks against Israeli armored vehicles in the Gaza Strip over the last year have caused the deaths of 11 soldiers. Full Story
