The Tampa police said today that they had received several calls from people who said they might have seen a terrorism suspect in the city. A Tampa police spokeswoman said the department began receiving calls about 5 p.m. from people who said they saw the wanted man, Adnan G. el-Shukrijumah, on a highway in the city’s south side near the Central Command headquarters at MacDill Air Force Base. President Bush is scheduled to visit the Central Command on Wednesday. The spokeswoman, Awilda Rodriguez, said that no arrests had been made and that leads were still being investigated. Last week, the Federal Bureau of Investigation announced that it was searching for Mr. Shukrijumah, 27, a Saudi Arabian who the agency says may be an operative of Al Qaeda.
