Hackers apparently took over the state Secretary of State’s Web site this weekend, posting anti-war slogans and obscenities. Officials were notified of the altered page Sunday afternoon and took it down. The regular site was restored later the same day. The pirated site, which included a photo of President Bush next to a chimpanzee, was up for about 12 hours, officials said. “I’m proud to say our site is back up and running, and we are able to serve our customers,” Secretary of State Mark Hammond said Monday. “This country has a history of civil disobedience, but this has crossed the line and is a criminal matter.” The State Law Enforcement Division is investigating, spokesman Kathryn Richardson said.
