Malaysian police say they will seek to broaden a regional anti-terrorist task force, following the discovery of a cache of ammonium nitrate at a plantation in Johor state earlier this week. The chemical fertilizer can be used with other ingredients to create a powerful truck bomb, similar to the one used in the devastating 1995 Oklahoma City bombing. Malaysia and Indonesia agreed in Jakarta last week to coordinate their hunt for members of Jemaah Islamiyah (JI), the Southeast Asian terrorist group linked to Osama bin Laden’s al Qaeda network. JI is suspected of being behind the October 2002 bombing on the Indonesian tourist island of Bali in which 202 people were killed. Full Story
