The organization that manages the Internet’s addressing system must do more to involve rank-and-file Internet users in its decisions, newly appointed president Paul Twomey said today. Beyond bolstering public involvement, the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) must convey an image of openness that it has yet to fully establish, Twomey said. “There’s a responsibility on ICANN not only to do that but to be seen to be doing that,” he said.
