A bomb hoax shook the staff and students at the American-British Academy in Muscat as the threat of war against Iraq became intense. According to a circular issued by the school Superintendent Mona Nashaman-Smith to the parents, the school’s receptionist received a telephone call around 8.50am warnoing her of a bomb. The school authorities cleared all the students to a Hall which was established as safe. The Royal Oman Police were informed about the threat. The campus was cleared to facilitate a complete ‘sweep’ of the premises by the ROP. The school then contacted parents and students were sent home. Full Story
