Britain Warns Travellers Of African Terror Threat

Britain has reiterated its warning to citizens travelling to Kenya and the Horn of Africa to be on their guard against terrorist attacks. Wednesday’s revised warning comes less than four months after suicide bombers launched a deadly attack on a hotel in the Kenyan beach resort of Mombasa, killing 13 Kenyans and three Israeli tourists. “The Foreign Office continues to receive information that Westerners are at risk from terrorist attacks in areas frequented by foreigners,” it said in a statement. The Foreign Office said it was not advising against non-essential travel, but reminded visitors to Kenya, Ethiopia and Djibouti to remain vigilant. “The threat posed by terrorism is significant,” it warned in its advice on Kenya.
