Five suspected members of the separatist Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) are being interrogated by the military in connection with the bombing outside the Davao CityInternational Airport last Tuesday. The Armed Forces said the suspects are now in custody as the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) at Camp Aguinaldo reported yesterday that the death toll in the blast rose to 21 while 160 people were wounded. Armed Forces Southern Command spokesman Lt. Col. Daniel Lucero said five of the nine arrested suspects were identified as MILF guerrillas. “It’s positive: the five MILF suspects were among those responsible in the bombing,” Lucero said, adding that the five suspects are undergoing tactical interrogation. “The NPA (New People’s Army) conducted the casing for the attack and the MILF executed the plot,” Lucero said.
